It took several generations of the royal family to complete its construction over a period of 400 years. The construction of palace complex was started in 1559 by Maharana Udai Singh II as a new capital for Sisodia Clan, when he migrated from Chittor. Udaipur has also been the capital of kingdom of Mewar.

We say goodbye to The Pink City and head north to Agra. In the afternoon we move onward, with a visit to the vast red sandstone Agra Fort, headquarters of Mughal Empire, built in 1573. It is vast in size so beautiful that it appears more to be a walled palace.

  • 12

    Agra & Delhi

The early rays of morning sun falling on the white marble of The Taj Mahal and the spectrum of light in the mist of River Yamuna make Agra a picture-perfect location. This emerging mist creates a mirage as if the Taj Mahal was floating. Due to the absolute symmetry and sequence of beautiful minarets, the monument has been added to UNESCO world heritage list as well as it is also among the seven wonders of the world. We will leave Agra in the afternoon and move ahead to Delhi. This will be the last night of the tour.
