Himalayan Delight

Description

Himalayan Delight is the no-frill Himalayan tour into the three most prominent districts of Himachal Pradesh - Shimla, Solan and Kinnaur. The tour offers a hefty bite of famous attractions amidst the wilderness and hilltops. You will start by a visit to the World’s Highest Cricket Ground at Chail and move towards the ethnically rich spots such as Bhima Goddess Temple at Sarahan, Sangla Valley and the Kinnaur Kailash Mountain. The heritage left by the British Raj is Shimla, the former summer capital of India and a place full of enormous structures with intricate details.

Tour Program (8 Nights / 9 Days)

The nine days Himalayan Delight tour is spent in the different belts of Himalayan Ranges, namely Shiwalik range, Middle Himalayas and Greater Himalayas. We have carefully crafted the itinerary to cover all the major attractions frequented by tourists in this region

  • 1

Arrival at Indira Gandhi International Airport Delhi

One of our agent will meet you at the airport and drive you to the hotel for lunch and siesta. Then a visit is scheduled to Qutub Minar - a UNESCO World Heritage Site and world’s tallest brick-made tower. Delhi also has some very good shopping marts, spared to spice up your evening.

  • 2

    Proceed to Chail

After breakfast we will embark on our journey from Delhi to Kalka by train. At Kalka, the track will change to narrow gauge, so we will ride the famous toy train, another world heritage site listed by UNESCO. The toy train ride will end at Barog, from whence we will proceed to Chail by taxi. Barog to Chail is hardly a couple of hours journey through the refreshing pine forests. The evening is reserved for a hotel check-in at Chail.

  • 3

    Proceed to Sarahan

This day is to invoke some calm as we move towards Sarahan via Kufri, Narkanda and Rampur, places showcasing the true Himachal’s culture, enveloped in dense Deodar trees. We will reach Sarahan probably by evening and then you can check-in at the hotel for the night.

  • 4

Local sightseeing & proceed to Sangla

The sightseeing for the day includes visit to the Temple of Goddess Bhimakali, which is a true architectural gem constructed several centuries ago. We will proceed to Sangla on the same day, where you can have a healthy dinner and peaceful sleep.

  • 5

Local sightseeing & proceed to Kalpa

The dawn at Sangla is different from the dawn at any other place. We will take on a journey ahead to Chitkul, the last village or point in India and then towards Kalpa for the night. Kalpa is a beautiful village in Kinnaur that overlooks some of the sharpest cliffs around and houses a UNESCO protected several centuries old village.

  • 6

    Kalpa local sightseeing

Sightseeing at Kalpa includes visit to local huts, temples and some ridges to view Mt. Kinner Kailash. This peak in the eastern end of Himachal Pradesh is mysteriously interesting due to the way it changes shades with different angles of sun rays falling on it. Kalpa is worth spending another night.

  • 7

    Proceed to Shimla

After a timely check-out from the hotel at Kalpa, we will drive to Shimla and stay at Shimla for the night.

  • 8

Shimla local sightseeing & proceed to Chandigarh

Sightseeing at Shimla means getting the nostalgic bite in its novel form. Buildings such as Institute of Advanced Studies, State Museum, Catholic Church at The Ridge and Gaiety Theatre are the beautiful structures made during the British Colonial Era and are totally worth visiting.

  • 9

    Transfer to Delhi

We will drive to Chandigarh from Shimla, while enjoying the Toy Train ride from Kandaghat to Dharampur on the way. Rock Garden and Sukhna Lake in Chandigarh are the major attractions. Rock Garden was made by Nek Chand, an amateure sculptor who created objects and human figures out of waste material. The journey way back to Delhi will be on train. The tour ends with a dinner at Delhi. We hope your flight to London will be comfortable.
